In conjunction with DubuqueFest Fine Arts Festival, the Dubuque Area Writers Guild published an annual anthology, The Dubuque Youth Gallery, showcasing the writing and art of Dubuque area residents age 18 and under.
Writing submissions were accepted in the categories of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and memoir. Black and white artwork was also considered for publication. Each individual whose work was published in the anthology received one complimentary copy.
The youth writers selected for publication were invited to read from their work at a reception held at the Dubuque Museum of Art on Friday May 20, 2011 during DubuqueFest. Courtesy of Dubuque365.com, enjoy a few pictures of the event:
